Went for my first ride on the new bike today, and I’m very happy with it indeed.

It’s light, it’s quick, it’s comfortable (perhaps excessively so; I may have to remove some of those headset spacers). It shifts quickly and directly, the saddle and handlebars are surprisingly good quality for the price (Selle Italia X1 and Ritchey WCS Evo Curve respectively), the wheels are good enough (lighter than I thought they’d be, with nice bladed spokes), and the frame is 100% flex-free. This means that the ride’s pretty direct (read: “harsh”), but I expected nothing less from a German AL frame.
It has a slightly shorter top tube and longer head-tube than other more race-oriented frames, which makes for a more upright position which will suit all-day rides nicely.
The only gripe I have is that the SRAM hoods feel rather large in my little hands, but I’m sure I’ll get used to them. DoubleTap is fantastic, and the WiFli made climbs I usually struggle with embarrassingly easy.
